Youngsters love to ride their motorcycle. However, they sometimes find it very difficult to maintain their motorcycle, as they are not well aware of the parts and how to clean them. It is important to do preventative maintenance of all automobiles. If you do not do it regularly, then the chances of accidents increases and something might go wrong before you have the time to fix it. There are some instructions, which if you follow properly, then it is an easy task to maintain the motorcycle.
• You will need the following thing, which are motorcycle oil, a wheel wash, wax, tool bags made of leather, owner’s manual, spark plug wires, tire gauges, gapping tools of spark plug and plug sockets.
• To keep the motorcycle in working condition, you have to take pre-rides and check that it runs properly. You have to do it monthly or at least twice in a year which should include tune-ups.
• You should check your tire treads once in a week. Try to look for scrapes and cuts on the tires, which might cause blowout. Many times blowouts are result of the low air pressure, so add the air pressure when you need it.
• Regularly check the wheels as spokes might get loose; also check the rims for cracks and dents. If you repair them in time, then you can save yourself from many accidents.
• Inspect all the controls and grease them properly, and if you find any broken strands or kink in the cable them repair them.
• Oil the chain at regular intervals and inspect the sprockets as you might find the teeth worn. To spot the missing parts like loose bolt, cotter pins or nuts easily, keep the motorcycle clean.
• Adjust the brakes in such a way that you can apply them fully and you can control easily, without any jerks.
• Adjust and check the valves of the engine every year and lastly replace the air filter at least once in the year.
